Real Life: the Series

RealLife: The Series is the brand new study by Pastor Pedro in the book of 2 Peter.

No one wants a fake. Whether it is a classic car, a watch, or designers clothes, you want it to be real.  People today claim a desire for more authenticity and genuineness in their possessions and in their relationships. They are looking for things that are real, genuine and sincere.

People have been clamoring so much for “reality”, that an entire television genre has been birthed… that of “reality” shows. These reality shows give people a voyeuristic view into someone else’s (supposedly real) life. The irony lies in the realization that the “realty” part of the programs are carefully crafted by writers, camera operators and directors. Still, people want reality. They want authenticity. Yet it is evident that this world continues to look for reality in all the wrong places. How else can we explain the desire to see a pre-made “reality” program and think it authentic?

In a world filled with so much deception, so much hypocrisy, so much phoniness, it is all the more reason why we need to rise to the occasion and live a genuine and authentic faith. The world needs it desperately and desires to see it as well.

That is exactly where the study in 2 Peter will take us. Peter will warn us that with all the clever teachings out there, we need to be intimately familiar with the bible as to know when we are viewing a fake “reality” show. He will also encourage us to live a real and authentic faith in the face of a crazy and difficult world. This study is all about living the real life. Stay tuned.
