Trail Blazers

This past weekend, I was out in Southern California for the Calvary Celebration. It was certainly a crazy trip for me in the sense that I got back from Israel on Friday, preached on Saturday, and jumped on a plane to get there for the event on Sunday night. I am so glad I went. I am so grateful for what Jesus has done in my life through the ministry of Pastor Chuck Smith. I feel so indebted. He has pointed us to a solid ministry track to run on, paved with the foundation of the word of God. Amazing what God has done and is doing through CC! For me the highlight was seeing so many friends in ministry. Men that have been doing ministry for longer than I have been alive. Men that were my teachers in Bible College. Men whom I have listened to countless bible studies of theirs. I literally have several thousand cassettes from these awesome guys. Many of them where present when the Jesus Movement began. Now some of you might be asking what is the Jesus Movement? Well the Jesus Movement is a term that was used to coin a revival that took place in our country back in the late 60′s early 70′s. But here is the thing: the Jesus Movement hasn’t stopped. Jesus is still moving. The Jesus Movement hit me like a freight train, only it was 30 years later on the other side of the country. And He continues to move! I am so excited about what God has done in the past, but I am looking forward to what He is doing now and into the future!
